When news of Lollapalooza 2017 South America dropped yesterday, we were blown away by the impressive lineup that boasts big name musicians as headliners like The Strokes, The Weeknd, and The 1975. But with the release of the massive lineup came a major surprise—the long-awaited return of the critically acclaimed British dream pop band, The xx. The last time members Romy Croft, Oliver Smith, Baria Qureshi, and Jamie xx performed live together was back in 2014 for a lowkey show at NYC’s Guggenheim Museum. The two-going-on-three year hiatus left our hearts aching for more from the band, but with The xx, we’re sure this set of Lollapalooza performances will be worth the wait.
The “Crystalised” musicians will headline the global festival in a trio of dates, as Lollapalooza has announced its lineups for Brazil, Argentina, and Chile 2017. Lollapalooza Brazil kicks off on March 25 and 26, while Lollapalooza Argentina takes place on March 31 and April 1, and ends with Lollapalooza Chile on April 1 and 2. The temptation to pack a bag and fly out to South America is way too strong.
