The first-ever Mala Luna Festival will be held on October 29 and 30 and aims to bring the San Antonio residents and their music community together in a big way. The goal was to create a unique environment where underground artists and young performers can showcase their talents, while also learning from the biggest names in the game.
Featuring sets from headliners , , , and , the two-day event will undoubtedly put the southwestern Texas city on the music festival map.
Another major reason that Mala Luna piqued our interest is that a portion of the proceeds will go to their partners at Network for Young Artists (NYA), a non-for-profit organization that holds affordable music classes for aspiring entertainers. Since keeping it local is what the weekend is all about, the festival also revealed that eight of the 24 performers on the bill would be reserved for up-and-coming San Antonio artists. The lucky (and insanely talented) acts chosen include IVY, VI$ION, Greg G, Mitch James, KWYK, and Phillip Wolf.
In the spirit of the weekend, the festivities will go down on the grounds of the Lone Star Brewery—a local staple filled with tons of awesome Texas history dating back to 1884. It's even the official home for the San Antonio Museum of Art!
