If you haven't been able to check out Surfer Blood on their latest tour, don’t be too bummed just yet. We advise lessening the blow by listening to their incredible new album Snowdonia, which just came out on February 3. One of our favorite LP's of the year so far is named after a mountain range in Wales, even though the alternative rock band hails from sunny West Palm Beach, where they got their start back in 2009.
We got to check out the four-piece on February 1 in Austin, TX, where they played songs from their first album, Astro Coast, as well as the new record to get the audience pumped for its release. In the midst of the show, a very special guest joined them onstage for a performance—the band’s original bassist Kevin Williams, who left the band a few years back to pursue music in Austin. He came up with the rest of the band members while frontman John Paul Pitts ran into the crowd and sang along with fans.
It was great to see some of the original squad reunited, especially in such a packed venue. Check out our photos from the show, and don't forget to track Surfer Blood so you don't miss this tour when it comes to a city near you.
