Here in NYC, we're currently experiencing a heatwave so intense that is has turned our generally lovely spring season into a muggy, Mojave-esque landscape. So, nothing felt more relatable than watching FOXTRAX's latest music video for "Underwater"—which showcases lead singer, Ben Schneid, wandering about the desert, running from mirage to mirage in desperation. Same, Ben, same.
The indie rock trio also hails from the Big Apple, but their 2016 EP, The Cabin, is not indicative of said hustle-and-bustle lifestyle. Recorded in the woods in North Carolina, the project is masterfully polished, emitting a laid back, vintage vibe that makes it the perfect soundtrack for a BBQ with the crew or your next summer roadtrip.
The "Go It Alone" performers are currently on the road supporting said project, opening for Barnes Country's North American tour. The band—Ben Schneid (Vocals, Guitar), Jon Stenz (Drums), and Jared Stenz (Bass)—will be bringing their high-energy show to cities like Pittsburgh, Nashville, and Cincinnati before wrapping in Minneapolis on June 28.
We were lucky enough to follow the guys on their west coast run, where they had run-ins with bison, Utahn newsrooms, and bull sculptures. Check it their exclusive Tour Diary below, and make sure to Track FOXTRAX on Bandsintown so you never miss them when they're in a city near you!
Two years ago we started this journey together and we couldn't have asked for better bro's to be out on the road with. Sharing this incredible adventure...riding those waves hard!
Definitely DO NOT try this at home people!
Jared was banned from being in this photo for A) wearing the exact same shirt as Ben and B) drinking all of Ben's water.
"When you get inspired with lyrics in the shower, you just gotta get out and write that sh*t down..like immediately!" - Ben Schneid
