Hailing from Philadelphia and currently based in Brooklyn—both homes to thriving indie rock communities—Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are the definition of a successful DIY group. Blowing up on music blogs in their early days, the five-piece were a hit on the internet from the jump. Flash forward thirteen years, and the band's still dominating the scene.
On April 22 at the White Oak Music Hall in Houston, the “Fireproof” musicians played a glowing set to a crowd of people doing exactly what the band’s name instructed. When they took to the stage, frontman Alec Ounsworth led the group through hits like “In This Home on Ice”, “Better Off”, and the 2005 gem, “Is this Love?”, which sent the crowd into a frenzy and made the energy in the room tangible.
