Nothing makes us feel like summer will last forever like listening to a Dirty Heads record.
Mixing reggae, pop, rock, and hip-hop, the California natives have been making sun-soaked jams and redefining the sound of the Golden State since 2003. In a nutshell? The "Vacation" singers’ discography is the musical equivalent of drinking a Corona on the beach with your friends at sunset while wearing a hoodie.
Now, the five-piece—made up of Jared “Dirty J” Watson (vocals), Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell (vocals/guitar), Jon Olazabal (percussion), Matt Ochoa (drums), and David Foral (bass)—have announced that they’ll be hitting the road next month in support of their upcoming LP, Swim Team, out October 13 via Five Seven Music.
In celebration of their SoCal sound, Ochoa showed us the best spots that the band's stomping grounds has to offer. Whether you want to find the best fish tacos, a cool dive bar, or an oceanside view for your dog, his guide to Huntington Beach has you covered.
Check it out below, then make sure to track Dirty Heads on Bandsintown to see them on tour with The Unlikely Candidates and Tyrone’s Jacket!
If you have a dog, or don’t and just want to play with everyone else’s dogs come here.
Amazing Breakfast burritos right across the street from HB Pier.
Don’t forget a six-pack.
Almost guaranteed to see the next up-and coming prodigy from HB putting in work here.
My favorite local brewery in Huntington—great tasting beer and they're always releasing new flavors.
Only spot in Huntington on the sand where you can drink and listen to live music.
Super small spot. Get the Fish Tacos!!
If you’re into German Food/beer check out Old World. I usually frequent here around Oktoberfest. Killer brats and the Wiener Dog races can get intense!
Divey, local spot—a lot of pool tables, blackouts, etc…
Because you can never have enough good Mexican food spots by the beach.
