“Rap is the new Rock” is the motto for NYC native hip-hop group, Oxymorrons—the six-piece blending the two aforementioned genres so seamlessly we don’t have to choose. If you’re not yet familiar with this supergroup, you will be soon, and you definitely know the world class artists they’ve toured with (and opened for)—cc: Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna, Salt-N-Pepa, and Wacka Flocka.
With a little bit of Kanye, and a dash of Zeppelin, these guys are forging their own path, expressing their truth in a new light. They exemplify the hustle and hard work it takes to make it, and manage to stay true to themselves along the way, something that has always been a priority for them. Their latest single, “Brunch”, is a tribute to their inner power and drive, and their forthcoming EP, Gateway Drugs, deals with the struggles they’ve faced thus far in the industry. We caught their show at the Highline Ballroom last Saturday, and witnessed them bring the house down for ourselves. We’ve wholeheartedly jumped on the bandwagon, and now it’s your turn. Check out the photos below, then make sure to Track the guys on Bandsintown to stay up-to-date with all their touring news!
