There are few bands we love as much as Run River North. After recently evolving from a six-piece to a trio, the City of Angels natives decided to update their sound as well, swapping their signature folksy roots for more guitars and grit. The evidence of said shift is in their new single "Hands Up", which is fans' first taste of what's to come from the forthcoming record.
Of the track, lead vocalist and guitarist Alex Hwang says, “Sometimes you surrender or give up, other times you’re letting go or lifting up. The song simultaneously laments past grievances, stays in the present moment, and ultimately moves forward with hands up and hearts open.”
To celebrate their new music, the band—Alex Hwang, Daniel Chae, and Sally Kang—teamed up with Bandsintown to for an intimate set at Hotel Cafe in November, where they played unreleased material and shared stories about the making of the album.
