Her entire career, Jennifer Cardini has brought her heartbeat to the dance floor. The French DJ got her start in Parisian clubs, making a name for herself with her unique and understated house music. She has since taken her sounds to venues across Europe, and is now based in Germany, home of iconic techno raves and the birthplace of revolutionary approaches to the electronic genre. But the reaches of her hypnotic tracks aren’t bordered by the EU— most recently, Jennifer tore up North America with dates in Montreal, NYC, and Miami.
A far cry from the typical electro-pop you may hear on the radio today, Jennifer’s songs focus more on developing an atmosphere, rather than relying on a big drop. Generally passing the six minute mark, her songs use every second to create and evolve upon musical patterns, creating an increasingly intricate piece of music that is impossible to not be spellbound by. Popular tracks like “August in Paris” and “Tuesday Paranoia” are slow-building house anthems that mentally place you on a dance floor no matter where you listen to them.
Before conquering her upcoming European shows, Jennifer shared some of her favorite moments from her recent North American tour, like exploring Williamsburg and basking in the Florida sunshine. Check it out below, and be sure to track her on Bandsintown!
Just arrived in DC, trying to catch up on Jet Lag before tonight’s show! This is probably the coolest bathrobe I’ve ever had in a hotel, definitely going to play some Red Axes to match it!
