If you’re in the market for music that'll get you on the dance floor, PNAU is the be-all and end-all for your needs. The legendary Australian electronic trio are known for their electrifying sound, but what we love most about the group is their out of this world visuals. To see what we mean, check out their video for “Go Bang,” which is what we imagine a rave would look like in the Avatar universe.
With a career spanning two decades, the three-piece has plenty of accolades to their name, from ARIA Awards to No. 1’s on the US Billboard Dance chart. In 2012, the group even teamed up with Elton John, who became a musical mentor after he heard their 2007 self-titled LP. Together, they released a remix album, Good Morning to the Night, and trust us, it's the stuff dreams are made of.
This past May (two years after the release of their most recent LP, Chunga), we got a taste of their new material with “Solid Gold," which was released alongside a psychedelic video that starred Kira Divine, who also provided vocals for the track’s chorus.
In support of their new tunes, PNAU will kick off their US tour on June 17 in San Francisco before heading to LA, Chicago, and a finale at New York’s Pinknic Festival on July 20. Check it out below to see the tracks the band—Nick Littlemore, Peter Mayers, and Sam Littlemore—will be bumping on the road, and don’t forget to track them to stay up-to-date with all their touring news!
"This tune possesses an openness. Reuben James is a collaborator of PNAU and a wonderfully brilliant and exciting artist. This is from his debut EP called Adore, well worth a listen!"
"This is a new discovery made through our friends at Unemployed Magazine, hot NY/PARIS taste makers. I love this tune and this band. I don’t know much at all about them but I’ll keep pumping these jams."
"Nice think piece, gives me a mindful restful energy. I love the kinetic nature of this music, I feel evolved and restored, a place of resonance."
"Cool tune I co-wrote with Henry Hey and Tim Lefebvre. Strands of dreams in all color sound explosions. Hope you enjoy!"
"This one gets us going on a late night trip, bar to bar to club to rave, in the hold of the flashing lights, the scent of weed, and phasing sitars. Takes us back to the Balearic Islands with haste."
"Enjoy this uplifting minute of creation. Tierra is an artist in her own lane, bringing back memories of Street Fighter II, NES, SNES and all the other video gamers games."
"Loving this characterful tune. Takes me on a wild night out whenever I push play, I see things and people, cobblestones and liquor, late night tuff shy all mixed up and with highs unimaginable."
"This has been a late discovery. It has something other songs do not. I am not a holy man but I do believe in people and the eternal sun child in all of us."
"Hands down best solo traveling song of all time. Makes me covet the sad, the loneliness, only to get the full effect of this evocative tune."
"This is a tune! This makes it feel like you took a trip and are on the edge of bursting, all without much here at all. It's minimal and that's all there is to it. Get ready for it!"
