On August 9, music lovers will flock to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco for one of the most anticipated festivals of the year, Outside Lands. The three-day annual event continuously delivers performances from some of the biggest names in music, as well as indie gems and throwback acts.
Of course, not everyone can make it out to Cali for the festivities, and if you’ve found yourself sitting across the country missing out, we feel you, but that doesn’t mean you’ve missed your chance. Many of the performers gracing the Outside Lands stages this weekend will be taking their shows on the road come fall!

After gaining traction following her gig as the opening act for Harry Styles' 2018 tour, country’s new face, Kacey Musgraves has lasso’d her way onto the mainstream charts. Combining classic country and mainstream pop seamlessly, the Grammy and Country Music Award-winning singer-songwriter has captivated audiences with tracks such as “Space Cowboy” and “Butterflies.” Following her summer festival circuit, Musgraves’ Oh What a World Tour is continuing into the coming months with stops all over North America.
Drawing comparisons to Adele for her powerhouse vocals, contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle made waves on the Hot 100 last year with her single “You Say,” which won her a Grammy at this year's ceremonies. A festival favorite, Daigle’s set will be one you certainly won’t want to miss. If you can’t make it to Outside Lands to witness her moving performance, you’ll still have the chance to catch her when she kicks off her Look Up Child tour the very next day! In support of her Grammy-winning 2018 album sharing the same name, Daigle will be sure to take audiences to church in cities like Austin, LA, and Portland.
Long Beach indie rockers, half•alive won the hearts of the alternative community when “Still Feel” hit the airways in 2018. Previously the lead singer for The Moderates, frontman Josh Taylor joined forces with Brett Kramer in 2016 to form half•alive before adding J Tyler Johnson to the mix shortly thereafter. Since then, the trio has gone on to release an EP and numerous singles, all ahead of the release of their major label debut, Now, Not Yet, which drops on the same day as their Outside Lands set. After the festival, the group will kick off their North American tour, where they’ll be playing their new album live through October.

After songs such as “What’s My Age Again?” and “All the Small Things” made them household names in the early 2000s, blink-182 have since become one of the biggest acts to have emerged from the SoCal punk scene. Capitalizing on their high-energy, and sometimes comical approach to the genre, Blink create tracks that are memorable and nostalgic for music lovers of any age. Whether you got to know the band via the music video starring frontman Mark Hoppus, or from hearing their tracks used on films such as American Pie, it’s no question that they’ve made their mark on the world’s collective consciousness. Relive the glory days and experience what the band’s been up to recently when they bring their North America tour to your city this fall with Neck Deep and Lil Wayne.
Australian Dean Lewis made a name in the US after his anthem of post-breakup hope, “Be Alright,” made a huge impact on American airwaves. At Outside Lands, festival-goers will be treated to Dean’s other hits like “7 Minutes” and his most recent single, “Waves”. Dean’s A Place We Knew Tour will extend throughout the fall, and will have him playing some of his biggest US shows yet; you won’t want to miss this star in the making when he comes to your city.

One of the originators of the chillwave movement, Toro y Moi has stood out as one of the most creative, yet underrated artists of our time. Chaz Bear (the singer-songwriter’s real name) grew up in South Carolina, having been inspired by new wave, soul, and funk. He later took a lo-fi spin on these genres once he began creating his own music; and he’s perfected his craft, namely on his 2019 album, Outer Peace. Bear’s melodic ambiance paired with angelic vocals has the ability to transport listeners to outer space. This fall, you can find him out on tour across North America, rocking his guitar across his back.
Even if you haven’t listened to their music, you might be more familiar with Wallows than you think. Currently, you can find the band’s merchandise for sale at your local Urban Outfitters, or you may have seen frontman, Dylan Minnette, starring in the critically-acclaimed Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why. The band released their debut record, Nothing Happens, this spring and since then, they’ve continued to soar. From Clairo-featuring track, “Are You Bored Yet?” to fan favorite, “Pictures of Girls”, the LA-based trio draw on their roots to create beachy tunes that stand out from the pack. They’re set to head out a short tour throughout the Midwest in September, and will be opening for Vampire Weekend on a few dates across Europe this fall.
Pink-haired dynamo, Bea Miller, has proven herself to be the world’s next big pop megastar. Having previously toured with the likes of Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez, Miller has been hitting venues consistently since she came in ninth place on The X Factor when she was only 13-years-old. Now twenty, Miller has been experimenting with her sound, armed with an empowered, liberated bravado. With the release of tracks like “it’s not u it’s me” and “S.L.U.T,” Miller has positioned herself as a spokesperson for young women everywhere. This fall, she’ll be out on the road throughout Europe and North America where you can experience her power in full.

Judah and the Lion have come roaring back to life this year. The end of 2017 saw JatL ruling the airwaves with their infectiously catchy single, “Take it All Back”, which skyrocketed the Nashville three piece to success, and arguably created a new genre to go with it, (folk hop’n’roll, anyone?). This year, the trio is back with a new album, Pep Talks, which they will undoubtedly be performing both at Outside Lands and their fall tour.
Chances are you've heard Kygo’s name everywhere lately. Known for masterfully remixing tracks such as Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” and Ed Sheeran’s “I see Fire,” his unique brand of light-hearted tropical house has amassed a cult following (and over 33 million monthly Spotify listeners!) Since his debut, the Norwegian electronic producer has worked with Imagine Dragons, Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Gucci Mane, and Conrad Sewell (the latter with whom he released chart-topping single, “Firestone” in 2016). Most recently, he remixed Whitney Houston’s cover version of Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love,” adding a new dance-ability to the classic tune. Following his festival stint, you can catch Kygo at a few more intimate clubs throughout North America and Europe this fall (and be prepared to dance!)

Known for his folk-rock crooners and poetic lyrics, Hozier knows exactly how to captivate a crowd with just one song. If you find yourself missing his set at Outside Lands (or are one of the New Yorkers who hurried right past him in the subway in March), don’t fret—Hozier will be coming to a venue near you very soon. As previously announced, the Dublin singer will be embarking on a fall US headlining tour in support of his new LP, Wasteland, Baby!, bringing his “Sweet Music” to ears around the country. Also on his agenda? A five-day residency at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom in November. We can’t wait!
From the moment “Stressed Out” hit airwaves in 2016, tøp have been slowly taking over the music industry. After two years, the duo returned with their fifth studio album, Trench, which features the stand-out track, "Chlorine". This fall, they’ll be hitting the road on the final leg of their Bandito Tour, which is full of the fresh material that earned them a headlining spot at both Lollapalooza and Outside Lands this year. To tøp it all off, we hear that crowdsurfing, moshpits, and overall rowdiness and are the general order of the night, especially in the front of their shows. Who would want to miss that?
Nahko Bear and his backing band, Medicine for the People, are on a mission to make the world better place through their music. Nahko, a sixth generation Apache/Mohawk, grew up in an adopted family and fell in love with music at the age of six. Now a decade into their work together, the band has released four studio albums, including their latest, HOKA. Following their set, the group will embark on their Take Back Your Power Tour, which will take them across the US. In a statement, Nahko invited anyone who was “full, broken, in pieces, strong, hopeful, hurting, overflowing, all of it” to come out for a night of tears, laughter, movement, and medicine.
Weyes Blood’s discography is haunting at its core, chock-full of tracks that put Natalie Laura Mering’s magnificent songwriting on full display. Following 2014’s The Innocents, which touched on a relationship that went awry, Weyes Blood has continued on a path towards stardom, perfecting her “melancholy indie” sound that mesmerizes audiences. Intimate and raw, her recent, critically-acclaimed record, Titanic Rising, was released via Subpop in April. If you’re eager to fall deeper in love with Weyes Blood, check out her live show when she visits an area near you this fall.

It’s not a festival without Weezy! Lil Wayne will be returning to Outside Lands for the first time since 2016. Always littered with surprises, his sets are a guaranteed good time, complete with both high-energy renditions of classics from his large discography and covers. Case in point? Just this past weekend at Lollapolooza in Chicago, the New Orleans rapper stunned the crowd with his unreleased remix of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road”. He’s currently on the road for the most-talked-about tour of the summer, Blink 182 x Lil Wayne. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity, as it will definitely be a show you’ll want to brag to your friends about.
The solo project of Oakland, CA-based Sven Gamsky, Still Woozy has been captivating audiences with his Tame Impala-esque lo-fi sound since emerging in 2017. Maybe you've heard his name more often, as his track, “Goodie Bag,” was featured in a Glossier ad. Since he completed his first headlining tour in the States this past winter, Gamsky and his tour mates (Yona and Peter) have been as busy as ever. While we wait for the release of his debut LP, he’s blessing us with a ton of praise-worthy singles including the lust-stricken, “Habit” and the somber, “Wait”. The band is heading out on tour into the fall, and trust us, you won’t want to miss their live show!
Made an overnight sensation thanks to their viral 2013 single “Sweater Weather,” The Neighbourhood have remained a staple on every party playlist. In 2018, the band released their latest record, Hard to Imagine the Neighbourhood Ever Changing, a compilation of noteworthy tracks that range from hard-hitting to chilled out. From “Kill Us All” (ft. Denzel Curry) to “Livin’ In a Dream” (ft. Nipsey Hussle), the five-piece have proven their ability to seamlessly pair hip-hop/R&B elements with their dreamy indie rock sound. The band is heading out on touring this fall—if you get the chance to see them, be prepared to catch frontman, Jesse Rutherford, as he dives headfirst into the crowd.
