After a two year hiatus, Shaky Knees music festival made its triumphant return in Atlanta, Georgia’s Central Park. From April 29th through May 1st, an awesome variety of artists, from Faye Webster to Green Day, hit the stage and played for an ecstatic crowd.
Faye Webster had a captivated audience on day one with her set, playing hits like “Better Distractions” and “Right Side of My Neck.” Her skilled guitar playing and dreamy voice paired perfectly with the warm Georgia weather. Jamming out on the Ponce De Leon stage was punk band Mannequin Pussy where lead singer Missy Dabice had fans mesmerized by her powerful vocals.
Green Day wrapped Day one perfectly with a killer set pack with their greatest hits. Fans were moshing and headbanging to “American Idiot,” “Holiday,” and “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” The massive crowd flocked to the main stage as the band proved their music to be timeless.
The following two days also held amazing performances from groups like Nine Inch Nails who closed out day two on the main stage. They played a long set with hits like “Closer” and “The Hand That Feeds.” My Morning Jacket closed out the entire festival and they went out with a bang. The band played for two hours and made the end of Shaky Knees a memorable one.
One of our photographers, Ismael Quintanilla, got to capture the magic during this year’s three-day event, and we’re already wondering what next year has in store. Check out the photos below!
